How to be an Advocate

If you are not in need, but encounter someone who is, you can use this page to help by directing them.
It would help so many people if you save this page and refer to it whenever you encounter someone who needs any kind of help - on homelessness, mental health, drug abuse, documentation, a job, & more.

Example of advocacy: If you encounter a an acquaintance who recently became homeless due to effects of drug abuse, you can recommend them to the facilities below, whether detox or counseling is needed primarily needed. You can also call shelters. Furthermore, you can assist by contacting the center(s), advocate for them (request help on their behalf), and bring them in.

It is key to remember that people who are struggling may be clouded by stress and not be in the best mindset. Everyone needs help at some point in life. Everyone deserves another chance.

Other Resources

Organizations in the Phoenix Area that advocate & assist in housing, food, clothing, services, etc.

Note that if you are here for places to donate, please see Carry Me Productions.

Each star is my trustworthiness level to vouch for them, based on working with the organizations, researching their tax information on
GuideStar, and reception from talking directly with the homeless. The top 3 are organizations I am a larger part of.

5-Star ratings are the highest, no stars mean that I have not worked with them enough to vouch.
